Kingdom man again.
On the home page it says there are four ghost towns in Vermont, is west Wheelock one of them?
There is a sizeable cematery there, an old school house (hunting camp), and I'm told there a lot of celler holes up there.
I would like to know.

Hey Mark, nice to hear from you. Hayden House is certainly on our wish list of places to investigate. You wouldn't happen to have an in to that place do you? Can't hurt to ask! Smile For now we'll have to live with just reading up on the place.

Sorry K-man I posted that last one under the wrong topic. So that makes this post for this topic. As far as a ghost town in West Wheelock that is a new one to me. May of been a small community but I haven't found an organized town for that area. If you have an interest in this you might want to check out a local library for old county maps. The ones done by Wallings (1857) and Beers(1860s,1870s?) are great for they not only show where a house stood but they also give the last name of the person living there at the time. Those maps are how I found my great great great grandfather AJ Shermans house in East Fairfield. My family goes way back in Vermont history. You can buy these maps online, but most libraries in this state have them free to look at. Talk to you later.

Robert out. Very Happy

Hi there, Kingdom man here.

I found a web site about Ghost Towns, www.ghosttowns.com .
They tell of five ghost towns in Vt, some shown here, some not.
So enjoy this site if you like ghost towns.

K-man Smile
